Mitch Fowler, from the Port City Breakers, and Chris Trembath, from the Wauchope Blues, are the two bookends selected for the team and will no doubt give opposition sides big headaches.

Both are standout performers in their respective local sides with neither unfamiliar with rep selection.

Joining them are Port Macquarie Sharks players Michael Bright, Kurt Moloney and Samu Wara and another Trembath, Robbie.

Beau White, Dean Hurrell, Jordan Galloway and Matt Bird from the Blues also made the cut.

Sharks coach Phil Trembath said the fact the players were selected reflected their ability.

“Their talent speaks for itself,” he said. “To have several Sharks players selected in our first year back in Group 3 is something to be proud of, but more so for the club itself given that everyone except Wara has come through the junior ranks.

“I think that the Group 3 side this year can go one or two steps better than last year and possibly win it.”

Breakers coach Josh Hyde was equally as impressed with the look of the team and said they have a great chance to win.

“It’s good to see Mitch Fowler get selected again because he deserves it,” Hyde said. “He was always expected to be there. He’s the best player in the group in my opinion. The team looks really good on paper so hopefully they can perform and do Group 3 proud.”

In U8s selection new, Breakers young gun Connor Cheeseman gained selection while Sharks players Jake Flanagan, Scott Grant, Samuel McGrath, Ethan McKenna and Ronald Sines were also picked.
