THE semi-finals have been played in the return season of Leeton senior basketball.
Games were played last Friday night, with Traveleaders facing Da Goodellas in the women’s, and Leeton Hotel playing Wombats and Fivebough Swamprats playing Thomas Service Centre in the men’s.
The women’s semi was a one-sided affair with Da Goodfellas only fielding four players and Traveleaders won 55-13.
The winners were led by Ainslee O’Halloran (19), Gabi Preston (16) and Katelyn Clyne (14). Andrea Campbell led the charge for the vanquished with seven points.
Hotel Leeton ended Wombats’ season with a 63-39 win.
Corey Ryan was dominant for Hotel with 33 points, while Dale Symes slotted 13 and brother Paul 12. Siale Howe (12) was best in a good team spread for Wombats, with Dylan Barnes adding 10.
In the other men’s semi, Thomas Service Centre played with four and lost Josh Clyne to a rolled ankle in the last quarter, but still beat Swamprats 46-38.
Swamprats had Adam Chilko on fire with 16 points and Kabe Stockton chipped in with nine, while Ben Marks (20), Luke Marks (15) and Ryan Young (11) scored all their side’s points.
THE second semi-finals were played last night, with Eagles facing Traveleaders in the women’s for the chance to take on Masters tonight in the season decider.
In the men, a good match was expected as Hotel Leeton aimed to take down Fivebough Swamprats to set them into the grand final tonight against Thomas Service Centre.
COREY Ryan sank 33 point for Hotel Leeton to put them into last night’s preliminary final.
