Natasha MacDonald and Chris Meaney were honoured with the Bedford Achievement Award at a ceremony last week.
The two were nominated by their colleagues for their hard-work and being team players.
Natasha, 18, thought it was pretty good that she won the award and was very excited.
Chris, 25, who is a bit shy, said he was “a little embarrassed” about being given the award.
Both have worked at Bedford Industries for roughly 18 months. Chris enjoys working there and Natasha “loves it!”
Natasha said her least favourite day of the week is Friday’s because she doesn’t get to work on Saturday.“I like all the people – they’re all my friends,” she said.
The two were joined as winners by Kevin Moyses on the day but he was unavailable for a photograph today.
Bedford Industries Port Pirie personnel trainer Rebekah Doyle said it’s extremely important that Natasha, Chris and Kevin were honoured by their peers.
“These guys are just unbelievable,” Ms Doyle said.
“They were just really, really proud.”
Ms Doyle said that having the opportunity to work is important to the employee’s well-being.
“Bedford is about changing lives,” she said.
“I get emotional seeing them progress.”
