Bowning and District Lions treasurerJune Field and member Pat Cook made their presence felt at Yass CountryKitchen on Wednesday, raising money for ovarian cancer.
The pair were selling teddy bears, balls,ribbons and a number of other oddments for the cause. Wednesday marked OvarianCancer Day and Mrs Field said it was important to recognise the date.
“We are here working for cancer researchtoday and that’s extremely important,” she said.
Bowning and District Lions will alsoopen its street stall on the corner of Comur and Meehan Streets today and willbe holding a mothers day raffle.
Mrs Field estimates that Bowning Lionswould have raised more than $10,000 for cancer research since its inception.
